Social Media Reacts to Chidimma Adetshina’s Miss Universe Nigeria Victory

Social Media Reacts to Chidimma Adetshina’s Miss Universe Nigeria Victory. When one door closes, several other doors open. Chidimma Adetshina is prove of that, as she went on to win Miss Universe Nigeria, after the Miss South Africa pageant saga.

Barely a week ago before Miss SA 2024 finale, Adetshina Chidimma announced that she was withdrawing from the beauty pageant. This came after the backlash she received pertaining to her Nigerian roots. Her case of stolen identity is still being investigated, and continuing with the competition was causing a stir.

Instead of feeling sorry for herself, and drowning in depression, the beauty queen entered another major pageant. Chidimma received an invitation from the Silverbird Group who are the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. As soon as she accepted the invitation, she was back at the top of social media trends. At first South Africans rallied behind her, but after a few days, they put focus on another contestant.

Over the weekend, Chidimma beat the odds, when she walked away with the crown. This means that she will represent Nigeria at Miss Universe, to be held later this year.

Thank you all for your support and belief in me. I am excited for the journey ahead and for the opportunity to serve as Miss Universe Nigeria.

Special thanks to my family who has stood by me through every challenge, every tear, and every victory, this is for you. Your love and support have been my foundation. Special thanks to my friends and fans all over the world, also special thanks to @silverbird for extending the invitation to participate. To my team, I say a very big thank you,
” Chidimma said.

Her win has once again sparked conversations, with divided views from South Africans and Nigerian. Some feel Chidimma being part of the pageant was a PR move, whereas others say she deserve the crown.
