Full List of the 7th Royalty Soapie Awards Winners. Over the weekend local stars gathered at the Heartfield Arena, Pretoria, for the 7th edition of the Royalty Soapie Awards. These prestigious awards are the brainchild of award winning actress and entrepreneur Winnie Ntshaba. They go beyond glitz, grasping soaps’ societal impact, committed to nurturing talent and setting industry benchmarks. Excellence is praised, whether on camera or behind it.
The hosts for the night was none other than Nomalanga Shozi, and Mpho Popps both of who have hosted numerous major award shows. TV personality Samora Mangezi took care of the Red Carpet.
Skeem Saam was one of the biggest shows of the night, with a number of their actors bagging awards. Lethabo Mekoa, Harriet Manamela and Mahlatsi Moropo represented the SABC1 educational drama very well. Dr. Jerry Mofokeng, who has been in the industry for decades was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Poet, filmmaker, producer, journalist and playwright Duma Ndlovu walked away with the Trailblazer award.
