“Chidimma is A Scapegoat to A Much Bigger Issue In SA,” Actress Ama Qamata. More an more celebrities and public figures are joining the conversation regarding Adetshina Chidimma‘s citizenship. Since Home Affairs’ recent findings, the Miss South Africa finalist has become one of the most talked about topics in the country and outside of our borders.
In a statement released on Wednesday evening, Home Affairs shared that they have started investigation to clarify Chidimma’s status after receiving consent from her and her mother. From their findings thus far, the department has indicated that prima facie reasons exist to believe that fraud and identity theft may have been committed by Chidimma’s mother. Chidimma herself could not have participated in the alleged unlawful actions of her mother as she was an infant at the time the activities took place in 2001. Sadly, an innocent South African mother, whose identity may have been stolen as part of the alleged fraud, suffered as a result because she could not register her child.
While investigations are still ongoing, Chidimma is making headlines on both social media and the mainstream media. Ama Qamata has just joined the chat with interesting views. The award winning actress and model shared that Chidimma is a scapegoat of a much bigger issue. She added that her case has exposed the level of corruption in the country.
“It is so unfortunate that Chidimma is a scapegoat to a much bigger issue in SA. If anything, this exposed the level of corruption taking place in government, we need to hold them accountable for allowing such unethical procedures to take place under their governance,” she said.
Ama also made it clear that she gets where the rage, hurt and disappointment of South African comes from.
