Theo Baloyi Donates 1000 Pairs of Shoes to Students on Mandela Day. Thursday 18th, marked the annual celebration of the International Nelson Mandela Day. On this day, many people display acts of kindness. They render services and donate goodies at old age homes, orphanages, schools and so forth. Some even give the homeless people meals and blankets among other necessities.

This year was no exception as celebrities and the general public went all out for the less fortunate. Theo Baloyi, the founder of Bathu Shoes brand, was not left behind, giving back in a big way. Through his foundation, Bathu Care Foundation, the successful businessman donated 1000 pairs of his shoe brand to students at his former high school.

Today, Bathu Care Foundation made a lasting impact by donating 1000 pairs of shoes to our future leaders at my former high school on Mandela Day. Proud to walk alongside these young minds towards a brighter tomorrow,” Theo said.

Other celebrities also did their part, and shared their deeds on social media. One such is reality show star and entrepreneur Khosi Twala. She also has a foundation, Good Deeds, and through it, Khosi donated groceries to the less fortunate. Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert also joined in, and had fun with the adapt a school initiative.

Radio station, Kaya FM, METRO FM, and 947 had their personalities participate with heartwarming acts of kindness. Big Brother Mzanzi star and philanthropist, Lerato Modise, also did her part on this year’s Mandela Day activities.
