Social Media Divided Over Vanessa Onwe Adetshina Competing for Miss South Africa. About two weeks back, the Top 16 contestants vying for the Miss South Africa 2024 crown were announced. Judging from the ladies, it was evident that the judges made great decisions. So far only 14 ladies are battling it out, as two already have been eliminated doing the Crown Chasers round.
From the 14, one contestant getting the most attention is Vanessa Onwe Adetshina. The 23-year old beauty queen from Soweto, is strikingly beautiful, smart and has all the qualities to make it far in the competitions. Her biography on the Miss SA website says she is a model from Soweto, netball player and a Varsity College law student who is passionate about sports and advocating for change on violence against woman and children and gender-based violence.
In a Miss SA video, she reveals she is a Cape Town-based model who describes herself as ambitious, confident and optimistic, living with the motto “dreams are valid when actions are taken.”
What gets people talking though is that Adetshina has Nigerian roots. Some people belive that she is half Nigerian and half South African. There are those who have shared that Adetshina’s parents are from Nigeria and Mozambique. The fact that she is in the competition though, means she has earned it.
