Nolwazi Shange Introduces Her Latest Acting Role. One of South Africa’s favorite actresses is back in the game. The last we saw of Nolwazi Shange in action, was when she played Mbali in Scandal! Mbali started as this calm wife, but along the way changed into a woman who would do anything to get her way.
The SAFTA winning actress and TV personality left Scandal! in February 2023. Her character was killed off after some family drama. That was not the end of Nolwazi though, as she just bounced back with a new role. She has joined the stellar cast of Losing Lerato for their second season. Nolwazi plays Peggy, a woman she describes as a young Kasi lady, who is always looking good. She is also a hustler, and knows everything that is happening around the hood.
Losing Lerato 2 will stream on Netflix starting in August 2024.
“Every now and then, I act. Meet Peggy, the latest addition to Losing Lerato. Ngimthandile ke unono,” Nolwazi said.
Losing Lerato tells a captivating story of a divorced man Thami played by Kagiso Modupe who is down out of luck and denied access to his daughter Lerato played by Tshimillo Modupe. Frustrated he decides to take matters into his own hands and kidnap her from school. The likes of Samela Tyelbboi, Thato Molamu, Sanele Zulu, Connie Chiume, Nolo Phiri, Ayanda Borotho, Mandla Gaduka and Mpho Molepo.
There more new cast members including Nefisa Mkhabela. The talented actress will replace Tshimollo Modupe as the older version of Lerato. The trailer reveals Thami will need a kidney transplant and Lerato will offer to help him. Other actors who’ve joined the film include the likes of Zolisa Xaluva, Dineo Langa, Lerato Marabe, Aubrey Poopedi and Mondli Makhoba.
