Losing Lerato 2 Coming to Netflix With More Legendary Cast Members. Now this is how you return for another season. The much loved, Losing Lerato film is back for its second season, with a beefed up cast.
Losing Lerato tells a captivating story of a divorced man Thami played by Kagiso Modupe who is down out of luck and denied access to his daughter Lerato played by Tshimillo Modupe. Frustrated he decides to take matters into his own hands and kidnap her from school. The likes of Samela Tyelbboi, Thato Molamu, Sanele Zulu, Connie Chiume, Nolo Phiri, Ayanda Borotho, Mandla Gaduka and Mpho Molepo.
Season I of Losing Lerato has done amazingly well, more especially internationally. In 2020, the film bagged six award at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema which was held in Los Angeles, USA. Losing Lerato was also selected to screen at the festival. The film also won Best Screenplay award at the Ramsgate International Film Festival in the United Kingdom.
Looking at the updates shared by Kagiso, it goes without saying that Season II is going to be a banger. There are additional cast members including Nefisa Mkhabela. The talented actress will replace Tshimollo as the older version of Lerato. The trailer reveals Thami will need a kidney transplant and Lerato will offer to help him. Other actors whoβve joined the film include the likes of Zolisa Xaluva, Dineo Langa, Lerato Marabe, Aubrey Poopedi and Mondli Makhoba.
Losing Lerato 2 will stream on Netflix starting in August 2024.
