End of the Road for Muvhango. Recently there has been unconfirmed rumors that Muvhango could be coming to an end. Last night’s episode, Tuesday 02 2024, might have been the very last one for the SABC2 drama.

Muvhango is one of the longest running programmes on SABC2, and the number one show in terms of viewership. In the past we have witnessed even the best shows getting canned, and this could be Muvhango‘s fate. The show reportedly finished shooting on June 15th 2024, and production has been closed since. As of today, no new contracts for another season have been signed yet. Could this be the end of an era?

According to the teasers the current season ended last night, with Kgoshi and Reneilwe’s wedding. The current storyline saw the return of MacDonald Ndou, who plays Khakhathi Mulaudzi on the show. He is back to see off his son Kgoshi get married. Sadly the wedding ended badly with Reneilwe getting shot during the festivities.
