The Late Mpho Sebeng Bags A Major Award Nomination. Although his life was recently cut short, Mpho Sebeng is still making waves in the entertainment industry.
The award winning actor and TV personality has touched lives through his talent. Mpho has been on many shows, among them, Savage Beauty, Kokota Piano, Zero Tolerance, Soul Buddyz, Justice for All, and The Queen. A few days back it was announced that he plays lead in another new show, 106FM. Mpho plays the role of DJ Whiskey in the drama series that follows two polar opposite DJs. Together with DJ Tsietsi, DJ Whiskey devises a plan to save the station from closure. 016FM streams on 26 June, only on Showmax.
On more great news, Mpho has just bagged himself a major award nomination. He has been nominated for Best Film Actor in the upcoming 11th Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela Awards. This is for his iconic role in Ingoma. It followed a schoolteacher who tells his students the story of his life before he found success, navigating betrayal, financial hardship and selling drugs.
For the award Mpho will be battling it out with two veteran actors. One is Kwenzo Ngcobo for his role on Freedom Street. Another one is Masoja Msiza for his role on Dear Future Wife’.
The prestigious Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela Awards focus on talent in KwaZulu-Natal. They recognize outstanding achievement and excellence within the film and television industry. The nominees include actors, producers, directors, and various film and television technicians.
