Melusi Mbele Takes A Break From Scandal! He joined the award winning e.tv daily drama in 2021. Melusi Mbele was cast as Jojo, one of the mighty Kubeka’s family members. The family brought more scandals, which left viewers always asking for more.
The legendary Fana Mokoena played Vukile, the family head. He was all about growing a legacy for his family and create generational wealth through the family-owned waste business. Vukile’s wife, Nomvula, was played by none other than Slindile Nodangala. Their three kids, were Jojo, Dudu (Sihle Ndaba) and Zenzele (Robert Mpisi). All the Kubeka family members left the show, but Jojo remained.
Jojo grew from being in the background, to becoming a force in Scandal! He has gone through rape, betrayal, wrong business moves among other things. For the role, Melusi bagged a SAFTA for Best Actor in a TV Soapie.
Sadly, even good things come to an end, and so has Melusi’s character. The award winning actor has officially bit the soapie goodbye, and it’s a bitter sweet moment. Viewers are going to miss him, but the great thing is that it’s temporary.
