Frontshop Assistant Vacancy at Bredell Square

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is recruiting a Frontshop Assistant for The Local Choice Pharmacy in Bredell Square, Kempton Park. The position is a fixed term contract and remains open from 21 November 2025 to 03 December 2025. The role supports daily retail operations and helps maintain strong merchandising standards that drive sales.

Role Overview

You manage stock, maintain merchandise displays and support customers throughout the store. You follow The Local Choice Corporate Stores procedures to keep shelves full, accurate and ready for trading.

Essential Requirements

• Grade 12 or Matric
• Up to 6 months retail work experience

Advantageous Requirements

• One year retail experience
• Merchandising knowledge
• Planogram experience
• Familiarity with the FMCG sector
• Ability to speak a second additional language

Key Duties

• Restock merchandise to support consistent sales
• Unpack stock and place items in the correct areas
• Check expiry dates and apply the FIFO method
• Keep full product ranges on shelves
• Rotate stock daily and follow stock control procedures
• Maintain a clean and organised storeroom
• Report low stock, out of stock items and damaged or expired stock
• Support cycle counts and general stocktaking
• Flatten boxes and place them in the correct area
• Follow all merchandising layouts and store standards
• Keep shelves neat with clear labels and accurate pricing
• Monitor and report price discrepancies
• Maintain product knowledge and stay aware of new items
• Build and maintain merchandise displays
• Assist with loading and offloading stock
• Mark products that arrive without barcodes
• Handle merchandise carefully to reduce losses
• Assist customers with product queries and follow up on out of stock enquiries
• Wear the correct uniform and name badge
• Help train new team members
• Report suspicious behaviour
• Keep your workstation clean
• Follow all operating procedures and safety rules
