Viewers React to the News that Matthews Rantsoma is Exiting Scandal! According to reports making rounds on social media, Matthews Rantsoma is exiting Scandal!. The talented actor has been holding down the iconic role of Nhlamulo Maseko since 2021.
Nhlamulo was introduced to the viewers as a wealthy young man, all about soft life. He was into Forex trading, and with his charm, managed to lure in many people into investing. The interesting character also made the township life and lingo a thing on the show. Nhlaks, as his friends call him also came with some baby mama drama.
After a short stint in prison, Nhlamulo came back a changed man. Although here and there a man has to do what he has to do to survive, he is trying to be in the straight and narrow. Nhlaks is a family man, and currently is trying by all means to have Larona as a part of his life.
For this role, Matthews went all out. For one, he had to learn a lot about township lingo. Luckily, for him he could seek help from theatre practitioners, teachers, writers and directors. He also referenced actors such as Themba Mkhoma and Jefferson Tshabalala.
Sadly, even good things come to an end, so has the role of Nhlamulo. The young talent has resigned from the hot soapie, to pursue other interests. Matthews will exit the show in the end of July. It’s not clear whether he will be replaced or completely written off.
The news of his exit, has not set well with many fans of Scandal! What makes it worse is that, his first love interest Lindiwe Ngema, (Mvelo Makhanya) was killed off in the show. The pair were one of the best onscreen couples we have ever had on TV.
