Nomvelo Makhanya Officially Launches Herself As A DJ. It goes without saying that being a DJ is a lucrative venture. Many of our female personalities are exploring it, and we love this for them. Just a few months back, Pear Thusi announced that she was now officially a DJ. So far, the media personality and actress is doing very well, bagging all the relevant gigs.

Another celebrity has just announced herself as a DJ. After six months of perfecting her craft, Nomvelo Makhanya is the latest DJ in town. Just like many who take up Djaying, the talented actress and entertainer has been practicing, and now she is ready to share her skills with the world. Although she is new in the venture, Nomvelo’s gig guide is quite impressive. She already has a gig lined up with the likes of JazziQ and Vigro Deep.

“Starting something new is always so scary especially because everyone ALWAYS has an opinion but the past six months of constant practice & gigging has been amazing & so fulfilling. Shout out to everyone that’s been in my corner,” Nomvelo said.

Nomvelo has been in the industry for as long as we can remember. She joined the National School of Arts (NSA) in Braamfontein, Johannesburg under the guidance of her mother. Then she performed in the musical ‘Sarafina’ and thought to pursue as a professional artist. Later she joined several theater productions such as The Bald Prima Donn, African Reflections and Maybe This Time. In 2016, she played the role of ‘Lindiwe Ngema’, in the eTV drama series Scandal! Nomvelo left the show towards the end of 2022, when her character was killed off.
