1. Sigin Ojulu was born in Sudan / South Sudan.
2. The talented star moved to America as a refugee fleeing racial and religious oppression.
3. She started off in academia en route to becoming an Economist. Ojulu then took a turn to attend USC’s Graduate Film School for Film & TV production. She is now a graduate from USC’s graduate School of Cinematic Arts.
4. Ojulu has modeled for commercial work for various brands including Adidas, Chevrolet and Apple products before moving into acting and film-making for film and television production.
5. She has been in front of the camera (modeling, commercials, pageants) and on stage her entire life. It was during her academic trajectory that she fell in love with film-making.
6. Before the pandemic, her USC thesis film CODE_SWITCH, was accepted into festivals all over the world. This includes, Austin After Dark, ABFF, Pan African and Cannes Film Festival showcases. It has since picked up multiple awards for best short film, screenwriting and directing.
7. One of Ojulu’s core passions is developing content for immersive technologies. She has directed and produced multiple virtual reality productions and applications for various creative studios and most notably for MIT’s Media Lab.
8. Ojulu recently bagged herself a role in Muvhango. She plays Razia, a refugee who almost became a victim of human trafficking.
