“Whenever One Door Closes, I Hope One More Opens,” Akhenime Mfenyana. This is the kind of positivity that one has to have when an opportunity comes to an end. Siysanga Akhenime Mfenyana penned these words, after it became hugely publicized that she was exiting Gqeberha: The Empire.
Akhe has been in the industry for sometime now, trying this and that. The talented actress and gym fanatic, got her biggest break a year ago, when she was cast on Gqeberha: The Empire where she plays the lead role of Anathi. Anathi started off as a young woman who wanted to open a restaurant so she can support her grandmother and younger brother. While on duty, she met Luzuko Mxenge, a rich polygamist. Things got messy when she got attracted to Luzuko’s son Thulani.
Sadly for Anathi a lot of bad things happened to her, because of associating with the Mxenges. She had problems connecting with other wives. As given, her affair with Thulani became her downfall. Over the past weeks, the two were planning their wedding, but Anathi was murdered on the day, before she could say her ‘I Do.’ Mfenyana’s final episode aired on Friday, 11 April 2024.
Social media users shared different views, regarding her departure. On her part, Akhe shared a message of hope. She stated that she is hoping for other doors to open.
