Security Guard Wanted At the Department of Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs (CoGTA)

KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Security Guard to be based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Requirements:

  • Basic Education (Grade 8)
  • Basic security course.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of access control procedures,
  • Knowledge of measures for the control and movement of equipment and stores,
  • Knowledge of prescribed security procedures and the authority of security officers/guards contained in the document,
  • Good interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to operate security equipment and security consciousness skills.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to render a security service through protection, safe guarding and access control with regard to buildings, employees, stores and departmental assets.
  • Perform access control functions,
  • Safeguard the building and assets of the premises,
  • Ensure that equipment, documents and stores do not leave or enter the building premises unauthorized,
  • Ensure all incidents are recorded in the occurrence books/registers, perform relief duties, and attend drill parade.
