Watch! DJ Tira Sends a Message to President Cyril Ramaphosa

Watch! DJ Tira Sends a Message to President Cyril Ramaphosa. Over the past couple of months, we have seen lockdown levels and regulations being loosened. Sectors like the entertainment industry, the alcohol as well as food sector, opened up a bit, and business went almost back to normal.

The fact of the matter is that we not really back to normal as yet. There are still some restrictions that people have to abide by. For example, when it comes to gatherings, the number of people permitted to attend indoor gatherings are a maximum of 750 people, while up to 2,000 people may attend outdoor gatherings. Those who have invested in entertainment are still suffering, because these numbers don’t really bring profit, and they are not able to recover from the lost business during total lockdown months.

One person who has been in the industry for decades, DJ Tira has thus called on the president to do something about the situation. The multi award winning musician and producer took to his social media where he asked President Cyril Ramaphosa to look into opening up the country. He stated that they are used to having 20 000 people at events, but now the 2000 number, isn’t doing nothing to help them sustain themselves.

It might look a bit far fetched but, this message can actually reach Ramaphosa’s attention. In 2019, the two had a live chat on Instagram, which trended the whole of social media platforms. The two had a chat while Tira was on a flight to the voting polls, that was when the president asked him how he was.

“I’m okay, I’m on the flight ngiya eDurban ngiyovota (I’m on a flight on my way to vote in Durban),” Tira says.

Ramaphosa then wished him a safe trip and to vote well and urged him to tell his fans to also “vote well” and cast their votes for the ANC. Some of the celebs who Ramaphosa spoke to on that day, include AKA and Bonang Matheba.
