Lerato and Phetola Makhetha Reveal The Serious Health Condition their New Baby Has. There is nothing as painful as seeing your child not in good health. Sadly this is what Lerato and Phetola Makhetha are going through with their newborn.
In October 2023, the Makhs took to their joint social media pages with a video announcing that they were expecting. In the clip, their two daughters and mommy dearest receive forehead kisses from daddy. The actor, radio personality and YouTube content creator then proceeds to kiss his wife’s cute bump. A scan of the unborn baby was also featured in the video.
A month ago, they shared their birthing journey and gender reveal. The video, which is on their YouTube channel, shows them at the hospital, up until the birth of baby Lebone. Sadly the little girl got diagnosed with Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome) after birth. The genetic disorder that brings challenges affecting various parts of the body and causes developmental delays/limitations.
“While it’s considered a “life-limiting” condition, we’ve chosen to embrace every moment of this journey knowing that God is at the centre,” the couple said.
After learning about Lebone’s diagnosis, they were filled with a lot fear. “We were utterly heartbroken. The doctors painted a bleak picture, warning us not to expect much and preparing us for the worst. The possibility of losing our baby shook us to our core.”
“Yet, Lebone has shown incredible strength. Despite spending 45 days in the NICU, she’s now home where she belongs. Her sisters adore her, and our hearts overflow with love for her. This journey has taught us to trust in the Lord’s plan, knowing that He has good intentions for us and for Lebone,” they added.
