Jaden Smith Gives South Africa Some Love. South Africa is one of the African countries loved by many international celebrities. We have had a number of stars come here for vacations, music performances, to shoot movies among other things.
Also, a lot of our local personalities have sold the country very well overseas. The likes of Tyla, Trevor Noah, Black Coffee, Thuso Mbedu, Nomzamo Mbatha and Charlize Theron are loved by many internationally. Also some of our leaders like the late Nelson Mandela earned respect globally, and remain icons even years after their passing.
It didn’t come as a surprise when Jaden Smith randomly took to Twitter to give South Africa some love. The talented rapper, actor and fashionista gave s shout out to Mzansi, making locals go all crazy. It is not clear if he is looking into visiting the country soon, or he just felt like showing us some love.
“Shout Out South Africa,” Jaden said.
25-year old Jaden is the son of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith. As much as his parents are global stars, he also has paved his way in the Industry. Jaden has received various accolades, including a Teen Choice Award, MTV Movie Award, a BET Award and a Young Artist Award.
GQ describes him as “in a league of his own” in terms of fashion. He was also hailed as “superstar who has taken fashion to an entirely different level”. In May 2013 Jaden collaborated with a Korean designer, Choi Bum Suk, to create a pop-up store where customers can buy clothes with their collaborated logos.
In 2016, he modeled in a womenswear campaign for Louis Vuitton wearing a skirt. Jaden was the first male model to model womenswear for Louis Vuitton. In 2018, he created a denim line with fashion brand G-Star.
