Inside Collen Mashawana Foundation’s 12th Anniversary Fund Raising Gala Dinner. Over the weekend, the Collen Mashawana Foundation hosted a fundraising gala dinner to mark their 12th anniversary. The NPO has an objective of assisting the elderly, child headed families, GBV Victims and people living with disabilities.
Through his foundation, Collen Mashwana has built hundreds of houses and donated them to the elderly, child headed families and people living with disabilities. Over the years, the philanthropist has done a great job in trying to eradicate poverty in the country. Since the establishment of the foundation, Mashawana, always holds an annual gala dinner, which attracts the media.
This year, all roads led to the Sandton Convention Centre, where many high profile personalities gathered. The likes of EFF leader Julius Malema, Minister of Social Development Lindiwe Zulu, former Botswana president Ian Khama, Unisa VC Professor Puleng LenkaBula were present. Celebs among them Connie Ferguson, Thembi Seete, Penny Lebyane, Sophie Ndaba Makhadzi, Unathi and K.O, also graced the event.
During the gala dinner, funds were raised to continue the work of being “Active Citizens“. Various business heads, politicians and active citizens who pledged to the building of almost 20 houses and with additional pledges to turn the houses into homes
