Amanda was introduced into the industry after she was eliminated from the singing competition ‘Idols SA’. She however used this bitter disappointment as a life lesson. She said on TshisaLIVE that she has always wanted to just make music. “I made peace with fact that Idols was just a stepping stone on the path to making music” she added

Amanda went on to say that what kept her going, she always knew her end goal. 2016 was only a big year for Amanda, her album also went platinum within three months o its release. She further claimed that she is determined to let nothing disturb along her music path
