“Today Marks 2 Years Since the Stroke,” Lira

“Today Marks 2 Years Since the Stroke,” Lira. 22 March 2022, will forever be the date with sad memories for Lira. This is when the multi-award winning songstress suffered a stroke while she was in Germany for a performance.

Following the stroke, Lira was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects how one communicates. The disorder can also impact speech and comprehension. Her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, was impacted. This was worrying, more so since she uses her vocals to be the superstar that she is.

Lira has always updated on social media regarding how she was doing. The greatest improvement being the ability of regaining her reading and writing skills. In July 2023, Lira did her first interview since the stroke with Relebogile Mabotja on 702. She revealed that now she could speak very well. A lot of listeners were inspired by Lira’s progress as well as her positive outlook.

It has been two years since the fateful day, and Lira has nothing but gratitude. She is grateful to be alive, and to have gained her speaking and singing abilities. Lura also thanked her support structure for the love and prayers.
