Power FM’ s Lerato Mbele Under Fire After Her Views Regarding Sizok’thola

Power FM’ s Lerato Mbele Under Fire After Her Views Regarding Sizok’thola. After 15 years of working abroad, in March 2022, Lerato Mbele returned to South Africa, where there is a greater need of seasoned journalists.

From working overseas, Mbele joined Power FM ‘s talk show, Power Talk. The show aims at connecting the dots of humanity, as well as remind South Africans of their connection to the world and also learn from the rest of the world. Power Talk airs from 9am to 12pm, every week day.

Recently the show touched on Moja LOVE TV show program, Sizok’thola. The crime busting reality show has been making waves lately, as it fights the country’s drug problem. The presenter Xolani Khumalo and his team crack down on crime and drugs dealers. After identifying the perpetrators, they hand them over to the police. A lot of viewers are impressed with Khumalo and his teams over the work that they do.

Just like any other show, Sizok’thola goes under scrutiny. Some feel that Khumalo and his crew somehow go physical on the alleged drug dealers. They reason that normally the dealers are stubborn at the beginning, but after the show returns from adverts, they are cooperative.

On one latest episode, things turned for the worst, as one alleged dealer died, apparently after the Sizok’thola crew visited him. According to a report in City Press, Robert ‘Kicks’ Varrie was declared dead after being interrogated during filming of Sizok’thola. He was then dropped off at the Thelle Mogoerane regional hospital in Vosloorus.

As a journalist, Mbele took on the story, and discussed it on her show. She spoke mostly about people taking the law into their into their own hands, something that has not set well with listeners.
