“I Have No Affiliation With MK Party,” Lira Clears Fake News. Over a month ago, President Cyril Ramaphosa announce the 2024 General Elections date. The elections will be held on the 29th of May 2024.

One party that many people are looking forward to seeing how it will fare is the uMkhonto weSizwe Party. According to the new party, they are rooted in a rich history of striving for justice and equality. MK is also dedicated to transforming South Africa into a nation where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive. Just like many political parties, MK also has some celebrities as staunch members

Even though that’s the case, some political parties lie about certain celebrities being their members. There are some fliers doing the rounds, stating that Lira is their member. The adverts state she is their member and in good standing. The multi-award winning singer has however, denied the news. Lira vehemently said, she is not a remember of MKP, and has not endorsed them. She is now exploring legal options about the use of her name and image.

I wish to confirm that I have no affiliation with MK Party. I have not endorsed them or become an MKP member. Any information to the contrary is fake news and I am exploring my legal options about the unlawful use of my image and name,” Lira said.
