Government to Implement Salary Increment for Public Servants. Given the rising cost of living, workers are always hoping for salary increment to help them make ends meet. Raising wages is mainly done to provide financial security for both private and public sector workers.
Many have been waiting in anticipation for the public servants salary increment update. The Department of Public Service and Administration DPSA has finally shared the news on their social media pages on Tuesday. According to the statement the government will implement a 4.7% salary increment for public servants in Levels 1-12. This is effective from 01 April 2024.
This is a decline from the 2023 increment. Last year, the Public Service Co-ordinating Council in collaboration with the National Treasury accepted the wage increase of 7.5% for the government employees.
