This Is the Amount of Money Reportedly Organized for AKA’s Assassination. There has ben some huge developments in Kiernan AKA Forbes’ murder case. Some suspects have been arrested, and more details have been shared.

Briefing the media on Tuesday evening,  Police Minister Bheki Cele announced that six people have been arrested and detained in connection with the murder of the celebrated rapper and his former manager and friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. Cele was joined by the KZN provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Fannie Masemola. 

These six played different roles during the operation. We have the coordinator, who is basically the master of everything. He is in custody. We have two shooters. We have two spotter, one of the spotters was inside the restaurant observing, watching Mr Forbes and his friend, as well as the organizer of firearms and vehicles, because the vehicle used as a getaway and firearms used to shoot, they were all hired,” Mkhwanazi said.

AKA and Tibz were fatally shot on Florida Road in Morningside, Durban, on 10 February 2023.  The shooting took place outside the Wish on Florida restaurant. The two were walking to their car when they were approached by two armed men who crossed the street and shot them at close range. 

According to some reports, the people involved were paid R800k, which they had to share among themselves. This is according to Times of Eswatini publication. Social media users took to different platforms, to weigh in on the news. A lot feel that the assassination must have been organized by someone very influential, with a lot of money. Some are sad that an icon like AKA, got sold for such an amount4.
