The SABC Releases A Statement Addressing Reports that Thuso Motaung is Fired. He has been trending on social media for quite some time now. This comes after some publications reported that Thuso Motaung just got fired by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
Apparently the dismissal traces back to a significant controversy in 2023, where the veteran media personality made explosive accusations against Thabo Kofa. During a virtual meeting between Lesedi FM staff and management, he claimed that the SABC sportscaster was plotting to kill him, and his family. Ntate Thuso detailed how Kofa, allegedly orchestrated threats against his family over work-related disputes. Ntate Thuso, has thus received his dismissal letter following a conclusive meeting regarding his future with the broadcaster.
As there are always two sides to a story, the SABC has decided to share theirs. The broadcaster regards the reports as irresponsible and sensational. SABC has now revealed that Ntate Motaung has been temporarily unscheduled for operational reasons. He will be back on his programme in just two weeks.
“SABC noted with concern the incorrect reports in the media, which claim that veteran broadcaster Mr Thuso Motaung has been dismissed from Lesedi FM. The reports further claim that Mrs Mamontha Motaung is suspended or dismissed from the SABC.
The SABC is disappointed at this irresponsible and sensational reporting by various media publications and would like to set the record straight. Mr Thuso Motaung has been temporarily unscheduled for operational reasons and will be back on his program after two weeks.“
