SA Celebs Encourage the Public to Register to Vote
SA Celebs Encourage the Public to Register to Vote. On Tuesday evening, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the date of the 2024 General Elections. The elections will be held on the 29th of May 2024. Eligible voters were then encouraged to exercise their rights, by casting a vote.
The only way to be able to cast a vote come May 29th, is is you have registered. The registration is left with only some hours, as today is the last day for voter registration. The voters’ roll closes at midnight for this year’s general elections, so if you don’t move swiftly, you won’t vote.
To get more people, more so the youth to register, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has engaged celebs to help. Influencers, actors, musicians and media personalities are using their popularity to lure potential voters. The likes of Penny Lebyane, Siphesihle Ndaba, Langa Mavuso and Kay Yarms have taken to Twitter to encourage people to register.
