“I Have Left SABC News,” Nzinga Qunta

“I Have Left SABC News,” Nzinga Qunta. The business news anchor has over a decade of experience in radio and television. Nzinga Qunta, is a seasoned moderator who facilitates high level conferences, events and seminars with a focus on business, entrepreneurship, innovation, education and tech.

Qunta is well known for her job, anchoring SABC News’ flagship business news bulletin, OnPoint. Her work included facilitating discussions at the World Economic Forum’s virtual Davos Dialogues in 2021, a discussion with CEOs and the President of South Africa on the South African economy and investment in Davos,  Switzerland, MCing the South Africa Investment Conference each year since its inception, interviewing the founder of the $365 billion tech company Alibaba, Jack Ma.

SABC News has been Qunta’s news home since February 2017. Sadly even great things come to an end, and her time in the anchor chair has come to an end. Qunta has left the news desk to start her journey in the legal profession. Penning her farewell message, Qunta stated that it has been a privilege to work at the public broadcaster. She extended her gratitude to Thandeka Gqubule-Mbeki for hiring me, and for everyone who made her a success.

It has been a privilege to bring people news on the biggest public broadcaster in sub-Saharan Africa, on a channel that is Independent and Impartial.

I am so grateful to sis’ Thandeka Gqubule-Mbeki for hiring me, and for everyone who has been so kind to me on my journey.

Words cannot capture how grateful I am for what I saw, did and experienced on this part of my life 🇿🇦

Looking forward to watching my former colleagues on the Economics desk and in the newsroom doing excellent work during elections and beyond.

Thank you,” she said.
