Trevor Noah to Host the Grammys for the 4th Time In A Row
Trevor Noah to Host the Grammys for the 4th Time In A Row. If you are really great at what you do as a media personality, gigs will roll in. This is the case with Trevor Noah, who is coming back for the fourth time as a Grammy Awards host.
The former ‘Daily Show’ host and multi award winning comedian announced the news on his podcast on Wednesday.
“I’m excited about that! It’s a lot of fun….I enjoy the GRAMMYs because I get to watch the show in person and then just experience and comment on it in person while it is happening,” Noah said.
The Grammy Awards is scheduled to take place on 4 February 2024.
Noah‘s relationship with the Grammys started back in November 2019, when he was nominated for an award. His stand-up special Trevor Noah: Son of Patricia got nominated in the Best Comedy Album category alongside other major comedians. He however lost to Dave Chappelle.
Regardless of that, Noah started a great relationship with the awards. He marked his first time as master of ceremonies for Music’s Biggest Night in January 2021. Since then he has been the host with the most at the Grammys.
A number of South Africans have bagged Grammy Awards over the years. Early this year, Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini and Wouter Kellerman bagged a Grammy. They walked away with the Best Performance award in the Global Music category, for their hit song ‘Bayethe’.
In 2022 Black Coffee won a Grammy in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category for his seventh studio album Subconsciously. Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Soweto Gospel Choir have bagged a couple of Grammy awards over the years.
South Africa also brought home a Grammy in the Best New Age Album category. The 2015 award is courtesy of Kellerman and Ricky Kej’s album Winds of Samsara.
