Thabiso Mokhethi Opens Up About His Divorce After Losing His Generations Acting Job
Thabiso Mokhethi Opens Up About His Divorce After Losing His Generations Acting Job. This is a true case of ‘When it rains it pours.’ Thabiso Mokhethi has endured the most hectic trials in his life.
The talented actor and TV personality claimed to fame when he bagged a role on Generations. Thabiso was cast as Samuel Khumalo, from 2005 to 2011. Samuel was brother to Ntombi (played by Sonia Mbele). We watched Samuel and Sharon (Kagiso Rakosa) go through their ups and downs before finding love and showing us one of the best traditional weddings we’ve seen on television.
Sadly, after almost six years with the SABC1 soapie, Thabiso and Kagiso had to bid farewell to their roles. Their contracts were not renewed, much to their shock as well as the viewers. Generations was making way for new talent, hence some established actors had to go.
Thabiso’s problems started from there, as he was now unemployed. One of his biggest trial was losing his mother and younger brother to a car accident, in 2013.
It got from bad to worse when he lost his marriage to Gaaratwe Mokhethi. Thabiso’s unemployment put pressure in his marriage, but sadly it didn’t work out in the end. Losing his marriage made him ultimately lose his faith in God. In the midst of it all, his only left brother was murdered brutally, while at his home. Thabiso was all alone, without a wife, and his immediate family.
He was left a broken man, and couldn’t even afford therapy. Thabiso then turned to drugs as a way to deal with his depression. The great thing is that, he overcame the drug addiction and managed to pick up the pieces.
