South African Football Fraternity Mourns AmaZulu Player Bonginkosi Ntuli. Just a couple of days after the passing of award winning actress Lebohang Mpyana, we lose another talent. Trending on social media is the news about the untimely passing of AmaZulu FC striker Bonginkosi Ntuli.
According to the statement issued by the football class, Ntuli passed away Sunday afternoon after suffering an aggressive form of cancer. The football player passed way at Midlands Medical Centre Private Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. The club requested that privacy and patience be granted his family and friends at this difficult time. They further stated that more announcements will be made in due course.
His last soccer game happened only seven weeks earlier, on 17 September 2023. Ntuli dies just two months after marrying AmaZulu FC CEO, Sinenjabulo Zungu in a lavish wedding ceremony. In May, the couple completed traditional marriage ceremony. They went on to have an eventful white wedding at a stunning Midlands venue.
Ntuli started his professional career with Golden Arrows back in 2012 and while he was on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns between 2014 and 2019, he spent much of that time on loan at other clubs.
Local football teams, players, coaches as well as media platfroms took to social media to pay tributes to the late Ntuli. Among those are Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Capetown City FC, Maritzburg FC, Pitso Mosimane, Simphiwe Tshabalala and SABC Sport.
