South Africa Mourns Former Diep City Actress Lebohang Mpyana (Khelina). This is one of the saddest celebrity deaths ever. Just the other day, Lebohang Lettie Mpyana was entertaining her social media followers with her funny content, now she left them at a sombre mood after the announcement of her passing.
According to a statement form a family spokesperson, the award winning actress, comedian and MC passed away on Wednesday 01 November, after a short illness. Furthermore the spokesperson asked the public to keep them in their thoughts and prayers in this difficult time of bereavement. Memorial service and funeral service details will follow.
Lebohang was well-known for her comedy videos on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok where she makes jokes in her language, Sepedi. She rose to prominence for landing the role of Khelina in DiepCity, a new Mzansi Magic telenovela, which is her debut role on TV. Before her DiepCity gig, Lebohang has also appeared on Mathata Ke Eng, a Moja Love show.
The multi-talented Lebohang was also a singer of note. She once auditioned for Idols and made it to the Idols: Wooden Mic segment. In addition, Lebohang did voice overs for radio and played Sylvia on THOBELA FM drama.
When Diep City ended at the beginning of the year, it was not the end of her TV acting career. Immediately more role s came in, and she killed them. Lebohang was cast on Yolo, an interesting drama on Mzansi Magic. She was acting alongside the likes of Simphiwe Ngema and Moshe Ndiki. Lebohang then bagged yet another role on Mzansi Magic drama, Umhlola ka Zodwa. She played the role of Ausi Gloria, a church lady who tells it like it is.
