Caxton CTP Publishers and Printers Limited is hiring a Packer for its Cartons and Labels Factory in Epping, Cape Town. This permanent role focuses on packing, sorting and preparing printed and manufactured products according to strict production standards. The position suits individuals who are reliable, detail focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will support production output while maintaining quality, safety and efficiency standards on the factory floor.
Job Overview
The Packer is responsible for ensuring that all products are correctly packed, labelled and prepared for distribution. You will work closely with machine operators and supervisors to maintain production flow and meet daily targets. The role includes inspecting products for defects, maintaining cleanliness in the work area and ensuring accurate handling of stock. You will also assist with basic equipment support tasks and help maintain safe working conditions in the factory. This role requires consistency, accuracy and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
• Pack products according to company specifications and production requirements
• Ensure all items are correctly labelled and coded for tracking purposes
• Assist machine operators with production support tasks
• Inspect products for defects, damage or quality issues before packing
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
• Assist with inventory control and stock movement
• Follow all safety procedures and factory regulations
• Help clear minor machine jams and support smooth production flow
• Meet daily productivity targets and deadlines
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Handle materials safely, including lifting and moving stock where required
• Support general production and factory operations
Requirements And Skills
• Minimum Grade 10, Grade 12 is an advantage
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting and standing for long periods
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic numerical and counting ability
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
• Understanding of basic safety practices in a factory environment
