Basetsana Kumalo Thanks the Kolisis for Coming Through for Her Son After A Hectic Sports Injury
Basetsana Kumalo Thanks the Kolisis for Coming Through for Her Son After A Hectic Sports Injury. Most mothers out there would tell you that their worst experience was seeing their kids in any form of pain.
Doting mother Basetsana Kumalo, knows the pain very well. The former Miss South Africa and TV mogul has just shared a story about her first born son, Nathi Khumalo. She revealed that a year ago, Nathi tore his Anterior cruciate ligament, while he was playing soccer. The sport fanatic teenager was hospitalized, and he received the sad news that he will be away from sport for 10 months. This was a hard blow for Nathi, as he is quite the athlete.
“Last year, our son Nathi who was in grade 11 was playing soccer and just as he was scoring a goal he tore his ACL. He loves his sport and is brilliant at it, whether itβs soccer, basketball, rugby, athletics. He was gutted, I was inconsolable.
The prognosis was that he will not be able to be back on the sporting field for 10 months, so basically he has not been able to play sports during his matric year,” Basetsana explained.
Seeing her son battle emotionally, she asked Rachel Kolisi to ask her husband Siya Kolisi to send him a message of encouragement. In less than a day Nathi received the message from the Springbok captain, and it helped him dig deep into his resolve to face this challenge head on.
“Thatβs the measure of the man that is our Captain and thank you once again Rachel. You both are one of a kind. ππ½ππ½ππ½
Blessings to your family, Basetsana said in appreciation.
