Basetsana and Romeo Kumalo’s Son Nathi Ventures Into Business. When your parents are well known in the entertainment space, there is pressure on you to follow suit. Although a lot of celebrity kids follow in their parents’ footsteps, there are those who carve their own way.
One will expect Nathi Kumalo to explore a career in the entertainment industry. His parents Basetsana and Romeo Kumalo, are key players in the industry, so with all the connections it was going to be easy for him.
His mum Basetsana has been in the media industry for almost three decades now. Bassie as she is affectionately called, has produced many shows through Tswelopele Productions, a company she co-owns with Patience Stevens. Some of their shows are Date My Family, Our Perfect Wedding, Diski Divas, Becoming, Expresso, Afternoon Express, and Top Billing. Nathi could easily get a job in one of mummy’s productions. As Rome is the former GM of SABC1, South Africa’s largest TV Station, he has enough contacts to squeeze his son in the industry.
Well, it seems like Nathi however, has his own interests. The sports fanatic, is into soccer, basketball, rugby, athletics, you name it. Together with his other two friends Nathi has launched a company called, MYTH Golf. The business deals with selling golfing apparel and clothing. Talk about exploring niche markets!
“These matriculants have started young with their enterprise. A golfing apparel business @myth.golf…proud of you my boys @AndrewWoodlandd @lukejankowitz_ and @nathi.kumalo We are behind you all the way. Upwards and onwards gentlemen,” a proud Basetsana said about the business.
