Minnie Dlamini on Winning the Live Presenter Search and Working Alongside Bonang and Sizwe. It has been a whole 12 years, since that day when she got the call that changed her life. Minnie Dlamini beat the thousands of hopefuls, to win the Live Presenter Search, thus earning herself a spot in the local entertainment industry.
During that time, the celebrated media personality and entrepreneur was still a university student. Minnie admits that she wasn’t taking school seriously and was hardly ever at res. Because of her massive social life, Minnie went from being an overachieving star student to a person she didn’t even recognize.
She then saw and ad on TV, where SABC1 was looking for a new LIVE presenter to replace veteran media personality, Tbo Touch. Minnie new from the onset that this was an opportunity she couldn’t afford to let go of. Long story cut short, she went through a series of auditions, and emerged the winner.
Minnie got to work alongside media veterans Bonang Matheba and Sizwe Dhlomo, who she has nothing but praises for. We still remember their chemistry and how Bonang used to call her Minnie Minaj. What a time that was!
“@bonang_m@sizwedhlomo were consummate professionals and I knew that I needed to work extra hard to be worthy of being on that LIVE stage with them,” she said.
This according to Minnie, has been a crazy 12 years and she wouldn’t change it for the world. She has nothing but gratitude for Mzansi on making her dreams come true and allowing her to grace our screens all these years.
