Sad Note! Father of the Late Reeva Steenkamp Passes Away. South Africa woke to the sad news of Barry Steenkamp’s passing. He died in his sleep on the early evening of 14 September 2023, aged 80.

Many have come to know Barry, after the unfortunate passing of his daughter Reeva Steenkamp. The model and reality show star was shot a multiple times by her then boyfriend Oscar Pistorious on the 14th of February 2013. Pistorius has since applied to be released on parole after serving more than half of his 13-year sentence for murder. The former Olympic sprinter, is still behind bars serving his sentence.

Together with his wife, Barry attended court cases, and at times broke down during the proceedings. Although justice has somehow been served, Barry has sadly passed away, a decade after his daughter’s death. On the statement posted on Reeva Steenkamp Foundation Facebook page, the family spoke highly of Barry. They take comfort in their believe that he is now with his beloved daughter Reeva.
