Lira Announces the Powerful Campaign She Is Part of. Her story continues to be one of the most inspirational ever. From suffering a hectic stroke, to now being on uplifting campaigns, there is no doubt that Lira is quite a phenomenal woman.
In April 2022, the multi-award winning songstress suffered a stroke while she was in Germany for a performance. After the news broke, so many of her fans as well as industry peers took to social media to wish her recovery. Their prayers together with the medical attention Lira received worked wonders. Following the stroke, Lira was diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects how you communicate and which can impact speech and comprehension. Her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, was impacted. This was worrying, more so since she uses her vocals to be the superstar that she is.
In July this year, Lira gave us all a pleasant surprise, when she had her first interview after the stroke. In a sit down with 702‘s radio host Relebogile Mabotja, she opened up about her stroke and recovery. One could tell from her voice, how the stroke affected her speech. Being the positive person that she is, Lira stated that she is excited with how much progress she has been making.
Lira is not going to let what she went through negatively affect her. She recently teamed up with 1st for Women, in a campaign about being fearless.
“I’ve teamed up with @1stforWomen in a powerful campaign about being #FEARLESS. For me, being fearless is about letting go of what you thought your life was supposed to be and just embracing where you are now – and how special it is,” Lira announced.
