The talented actress and musician ventured into music after the death of her husband Dumi Masilela. She was hit hard by Dumi’s demise, more so since he passed away only three months into their marriage. After the shock wore off, Simphiwe worked on producing music that Dumi was working on before his untimely. The music was compiled into an album- Eternal Crush, that was produced under the record label Simphiwe Ngema. The album includes Yena, a heartfelt song the actor and musician wrote for his wife.
Simphiwe has since moved on, and is now with Tino Chinyani, who they share a son with. Nonetheless, her love for music still stands, and recently she and Tino released a song they did together. The single, TIYANI is dedicated to their son, who is a special gift to them. Tino and Simphiwe, who are also both musicians, so it goes without saying that quality was a priority. Both parents have vocally contributed to the song, a gesture that is quite special.
Although many people, expressed they don’t feel Simphiwe and Tino as musicians, they are still pursing music. On her birthday, which is coming up, Simphiwe will drop another single titled, IDLISO.
