10 Interesting Facts About Shaka ILembe’s Lemogang Tsipa (Shaka). Thanks to his latest role playing Shaka, he is now the man of the moment. The truth of the matter though is that, Lemogang Tsipa has been around for years, with a couple of lead roles under his belt. Learn more about him from the facts below;

1. Lemogang Tsipa was born on May 06, 1991, in Empangeni, South Africa.

2. At the age of nine, he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. This explains why he found relief while involved in sporting activities including chess, swimming, athletics, hockey, and soccer.

3. In 2010, he enrolled at AFDA, The South African School of Motion Picture and Live Performance, with the sole intent of perusing acting. He graduated in the class of 2012 with his B.A in Live Performance.

4. The talented Lemogang made his film debut in local film Felix (2013) and his local television debut in Forced love (2012-2016).

5. His first major international supporting role was in, British thriller, Eye In the Sky (2015) where he played the role of ‘Matt Laver’ the Mission Intel Coordinator. In the same year he also landed another international supporting role alongside Sir. Kenneth Branagh in Wallander.

6. Lemogang’s body of work consists of Alien Outpost, Homeland, Traffic, The Golden Rule, Cape Town, The Book of Negroes, Lazy Suzan, Jamillah and Aladdin, Black Sails, Jab, Roots, Oasi’s, Amandla, The Number and The Dark Tower.

7. In 2017, he made his Film debut lead role in, Beyond The River (2017). He plays Duma, a talented young man who feels trapped by his circumstances and finds himself on the wrong side of the law. He attempts to overcome his obstacles through his journey in the sport of canoeing.

8. Lemo also stared in the BBC/Netflix series, Troy- Fall of City, and played lead in popular television series, Isithembiso.

9. Currently he is killing the role of Shaka Zulu, in the hit series, Shaka iLembe. He stars alongside the likes of Nomazmo Mbatha, Khabonina Qubeka, Wiseman Mncube, Dawn Thandeka King, and many other veterans.

10. The actor is fluent in both Zulu and English as his first languages. Over time, he has acquired impressive conversational skills in Xhosa and can also communicate in basic Afrikaans and Sesotho.
