“So Blessed To Still Get To Do This,” Minnie Dlamini On Hosing Award Ceremonies
“So Blessed To Still Get To Do This,” Minnie Dlamini On Hosing Award Ceremonies. About a month ago, she celebrated 13 years in the industry. Minnie Dlamini took to social media to gush over the milestone, and thanked her supportive and loyal fan base.
Minnie burst into the scene as a presenter for LIVE on 16 June 2010, while studying at the University of Cape Town. She was covering the “Youth Day” and “World Cup celebrations” shows. She later co-hosted Mzansi Insider, an SABC1 lifestyle show. In 2013, Minnie showed her versatility when she switched to sports broadcasting by co-hosting Soccerzone with Thomas Mlambo.
Juts like many media personalities, Minnie has co-hosted several local and international award ceremonies. These includes the 14th Metro FM Music Awards, 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, the PSL Awards and the South African Film and Television Awards. Her recent work as a host, was co-hosting the 10th Annual Simon ‘Mabhunu’ Sabela KZN Film & Television Awards. She was working with TV personality and actor Siphesihle Vazi, and the two brought the house down.
For Minnie, the gig meant a lot to her, as a consistent MC. As much as the task is tough, she feels blessed to be used at these major events.
“I love what I do with all of my heart! So blessed to still get to do this. Being an MC is still incredibly daunting and I still get nervous after all these years. The beauty of this skill is you never stop learning and I truly believe one gets better with time and experience. Awards hosting is the highest accolade given to a TV presenter, so thank you @kznfilm for the honour 🙏🏾 #SSA2023,” she said in gratitude.
