Cassper Nyovest On Why He Wasn’t Quick to Respond to AKA’s Death On Social Media. They had one of the biggest beefs in the history of Hip Hop in the country. Most people even believed that there was no hope of Keirnan AKA Forbes and Cassper Nyovest making peace.
The two prominent hip-hop artists, were involved in a highly publicized and long-standing beef that captivated the attention of the music industry and fans alike. The feud between AKA and Cassper, began in 2014 and continued for several years. It created a divide within the local music scene. Both artists released songs that directly targeted each other, filled with harsh and personal insults. The diss tracks, such as Cassper’s “Dust 2 Dust” and AKA’s “Composure,” showcased their lyrical abilities but also intensified the animosity between them.
Sadly on the 10th of February 2023, AKA passed away before the two could reconcile and bury the hatchet. The multi-award winning rapper and entrepreneur got shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban. This was just after his 35th birthday. Obviously many wanted to see how Cassper was going to react to the news. The multi-award winning rapper, TV personality and entrepreneur took some time though before he could say anything.
Cassper recently did and interview on leading Hip Hop podcast, The EPISODE. Among the things he discussed are the impact of AKA’s death on him, why he wasn’t quick to react to the death on social media, doing music with AKA, and regrets about the beef.
On him taking time to respond to the news of AKA’s passing on social media, Cassper stated that, anything he said could have been misinterpreted. He said that if he reacted fast, many were going to wonder why he is being nice only now.
