Since the lockdown restrictions were lifted, there is no free weekend in Mzansi. Each and every weekend there has to be a major event somewhere graced by well known personalities. A case in point is this past weekend, where the masses flecked to KZN for the annual Durban July event. The likes of Khosi Twala, Somizi Mhlongo, Jessica Nkosi, Pearl Thusi, Lamiez Holworthy, Sithelo Shozi, Mihlali Ndamase, Maps Maponyane, Nandi Madida, DJ Tira, and many other celebs were among the attendees.

Notably some celebrities, who used to be a big part of Durban July, like Boity Thulo and Bonang were not there. Explaining why she did not attend his major event, Boity said she decided to spend time with her grandmother. The multi-award winning rapper and entrepreneur used to be among the best dressed ladies at Durban July. But hey, family always has to come first.

For Bonang, she prefers to spend time at her house, as opposed to clubbing or partying. Even when she attends events, the multi-award winning media personality and entrepreneur takes time to share the content on social media. Her fans literally have to beg her to give them what they want. This thing of being selectively available has a lot to do with the fact that she is a Cancerian.

“I’m Cancerian – happier at home,” Bonang answered a curious fan.
