Thapelo Sebogodi Returns to The River. In the sixth and final season of The River promises, viewers an experience more than heart-pounding storylines. This season, the award-winning telenovela, comes through with a wild ride of emotions and new characters.
Among the newcomers is Ayanda Borotho, who breathes life into Zanemvula Shange character. Veteran actress from Isibaya Nandi Nyembe has been cast to play, Stella Shange. Khutjo Green, who is known for her exceptional performance in the theatre production Fences, will be joining us as Paballo Motaung, and the legendary thespian Thembi Mtshali Jones, will be gracing the telenovela as Thandeka Dlamini, Lindiwe Dikana’s mother. Kamo Modisakeng has taken on the role of the sheltered Bonolo, while Golden Horn Award winner and former Rhythm City actress Tebogo Khalo mesmerizes as the resourceful and manipulative Makhosi.
As new cast members get introduced, some existing actors sadly go. One of those who recently bid farewell to The River is Nokuthula Mavuso. The talented actress portrays the role of Angelina, a villainous character. Her dramatic farewell will be aired on Monday, 31 July.
Viewers will also be happy about the return of some original cast members. Nkanyiso Bhengu is coming back as the charismatic Pastor Mdluli and Thapelo Sebogodi returns as the unforgettable and beloved Khabzela. Both these characters’ presence has left a lasting impact on the show and its viewers.
From the onset Khabzela was introduced as a charismatic and street-smart individual with a mysterious past. He possesses a quick wit, a sharp tongue, and an undeniable charm that make him an enigmatic presence in the world of the show. His exit saddened many viewers, as Khabzela was one of a kind. The good news though is that the man is back to continue where he left off.
