Mamokgethi Phakeng Claps Back Fiercely After Being Judged for Her Hiking Video

Mamokgethi Phakeng Claps Back Fiercely After Being Judged for Her Hiking Video. Those who follow her on social media know just how much she loves her fun. Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng always shared videos and pictures showing off her young, wild and free side.

It goes without saying that the year hasn’t been an easy one for her. After immense pressure, Phakeng had to take an early retirement as Vice chancellor of the University of Cape Town. She is alleged to have received a R12m settlement as package. The early retirement took effect as from 1 April 2023.

Despite all this, Phakeng, also enjoys some beautiful moments. In April, she was appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa to the 11-member National Orders advisory council. The advisory council processes nominations of deserving South Africans and foreign nationals. They advise and assist Ramaphosa in nominating locals and foreign nationals to be bestowed with national orders.

Another way Phakeng stays winning, is through her leisure activities. She loves hiking, and often shares pictures and videos on social media. In one recent videos, Phakeng had many applauding her for her youthful approach to life.

One individual though, decided to burst her bubble, asking the professor what her kids think of such. Phakeng did not hold back, unleashing a hectic clap back.

Bathi I must feel liberated from the shackles of societal mores; I must forge my own path and eschew the confining standards of ethicality. They also advise me to avert deviants who, in their lascivious fervor, desecrate a pure video showing excitement after a tough hike. They tell me they don’t expect me to post myself in church uniform to appease the likes of Dr Sunrise – who seek their gratification therein,” Phakeng said. Ouch!
