KONKA Temporarily Closes Its Doors. For three months revelers with expensive taste will have to check other joints as KONKA Soweto temporarily shuts down. The announced on social media that the are giving the Big O, a massive makeover, hence the closing.
The much loved club was established by young South African businessman Kutlwano Pitso in the heart of Soweto. KONKA took the place of the old Icon Soweto nightclub, and went on to become one of the most loved clubs in the country.
Since its establishment, KONKA has attracted the rich and famous, influencers, socialites, politicians and anybody moneid. The place is described as an ‘experience’ and plays host to local entertainment personalities like Black Coffee, DBN Gogo, Cassper Nyovest and DJ Maphorisa. The likes of Shauwn Mkhize, Somizi, Pearl Thusi, KO, and Boity Thulo, are among those who have had events at the club. And yes of course, they are willing to spend big.
The establishment is famously known on social media for expensive bottles of premium alcohol, with some bottles retailing for over R14 000. The cheapest bottle of champagne on the menu can cost you about R1 300.
For the club to maintain their top standard, more work should be done. On that note, KONKA is taking a 3 months break, to maintain the best premium day club for their clients. The club will close on Monday 26th June 2023 and open its doors in the beginning of September 2023.
