Former Diep City Actress Lebohang Mpyana Returns to TV With A New Role. When a show gets canned, many worry about the talented cast and crew members. The end of a show, means the will be left out in the cold, with no jobs.
Over the past couple of years, a number of hit shows have been cancelled, to give way for new content. Shows like Isidingo, Rhythm City, Isibaya, The Throne, The Queen, Imbewu, and so many others no longer air. In the not so distant future, Gomora will also air its last episode. This always brings sadness to viewers, who have been following the storyline for quite some time.
In August 2022, it was announced that Diep City was also coming to an end. The Mzansi Magic telenovela, was a massive winner at the 2021 Royalty Soapie Awards, taking home seven gongs including Outstanding Daily Drama, just months after its premiere. It also brought us quite a number of new stars who made their mark in the industry. The likes of Chrispen Nyathi, Mzikayise Makroti, Luyanda Lungelo, Lebohang Mpyana, Moshine Mametja, Akhona Ndlovu, Phindile Thongo, are among those who got major recognition from the telenovela.
Although its tough for newcomers to bounce back, Lebohang, who played the role of Khelina, has been fortunate enough to be scooped by another production. She is part of Yolo, a new drama coming up on Mzansi Magic. She will be acting alongside Simphiwe Ngema and Moshe Ndiki.
