In May 2022, the first trailer dropped, and it was so captivating such that everyone looked forward to the drama series. Ever since the Shaka iLembe has been trending on usurious social media platforms, and making headlines on the mainstream media. It will go down history as one of the best promoted shows in the country.

Set in the 1700s, Shaka Ilembe tells the story of the iconic black leader’s early childhood through to adulthood. The drama series takes its name from the legendary Zulu king, Shaka Zulu, who serves as a powerful symbol throughout the narrative. The influence of Shaka’s legacy is felt in the region, and his story is interwoven with the lives of the main characters, creating a captivating historical and cultural context.

Shaka Ilembe boasts a number of the best actors to ever grace our screens. Among them is Nomzamo Mbatha, who plays Nandi. The talented actress and media personality is also the executive producer of the star studded series. The two key actors playing Shaka are Lemogang Tsipa (adult king) and newcomer Ntando Zondi (young king). Senzo Radebe takes on the role of King Senzangakhona.

Thembinkosi Mthembu will portray King Dingiswayo, and Wiseman Mncube plays King Zwide. Ntando Duma landed herself the role of Bhibhi kaSompisi Ntuli. Khabonina Qubeka plays Ntombazi, whereas Dawn Thandeka King is Sthuli Sika Ndaba.
