1. Patrick Ndlovu was born on 15 November 1938. Growing up in a modest family, Ndlovu discovered his passion for acting at a young age.
2. His first love was not acting, as he was a teen jazz musician. In the 1970s, Ndlovu transitioned from music to acting, beginning a remarkable career. He made his debut on the big screen, appearing in notable films such as “Sarafina!,” “Cry Freedom,” “The Power of One,” and “A Dry White Season.”
3. Bab’ Ndlovu also played the role of Mudli an advisor to the chief of the Zulu clan and to Shaka’s father, Senzangakhona, on Shaka Zulu.
4. He became best known for his role as Sizwe Moloi in the SABC1 drama series Zone 14. Another one of his iconic roles was as school principal, Mr Thembu, in the hit series, Yizo Yizo, which is currently screening on Netflix.
5. Ndlovu has also been on numerous TV series such Gaz’ Lam acting as Sfiso’s uncle, season 2 of The Wild as Masilo. He also acted in the award-winning film Cry, The Beloved Country (1995) and many other TV shows including Mzansi Magic’s The Queen.
